Thanks for the kind feedbacks and raving
reviews by some of you guys. I had been receiving quite abit of
email on how to play solos or even improvise. It seems that
this is a common problem that alot of new guitarists
face(including myself when I started playing the guitar). This
lesson is actually dedicated to those who had taken the
initiative to REALLY put into practice the scales you had
learnt. Kudos to you guys.
The second way to use the minor pentatonic scale of each chord
in the progression. For example. In a Em , G , Cmaj D maj
progression, use the following minor scales, Em , Em,
The minor Pentatonic scale is can be easily used for
improvisation for solos. This simple scale has been used by
guitarists all over the world to create awesome solos. Let me
give you some basic hints to use this scale in your playing. If
you are playing in a minor key, the minor pentatonic scale can
be applied. For example, if you are playing in A minor, you can
use the A minor pentatonic scale. If you are playing in the
major scale, you should use the relative minor scale (derived 3
semitones lower than the major key). For example, if you are
playing in C major, you should use the A minor pentatonic scale
(3 semitones lower than C).
Amin , Bminor.
In the following exercise of progression
, apply the soloing theory that you have learnt above and see
what you can come up with. Download the .gtp5 and jam away. I
have included a very easy sample of solo using both of the
methods mentioned above for your
