Thanks for the kind feedbacks and raving reviews by some of you guys. I had been receiving quite abit of email on how to play solos or even improvise. It seems that this is a common problem that alot of new guitarists face(including myself when I started playing the guitar). This lesson is actually dedicated to those who had taken the initiative to REALLY put into practice the scales you had learnt. Kudos to you guys.

The second way to use the minor pentatonic scale of each chord in the progression. For example. In a Em , G , Cmaj D maj progression, use the following minor scales, Em , Em,  

The minor Pentatonic scale is can be easily used for improvisation for solos. This simple scale has been used by guitarists all over the world to create awesome solos. Let me give you some basic hints to use this scale in your playing. If you are playing in a minor key, the minor pentatonic scale can be applied. For example, if you are playing in A minor, you can use the A minor pentatonic scale. If you are playing in the major scale, you should use the relative minor scale (derived 3 semitones lower than the major key). For example, if you are playing in C major, you should use the A minor pentatonic scale (3 semitones lower than C).

In the following exercise of progression , apply the soloing theory that you have learnt above and see what you can come up with. Download the .gtp5 and jam away. I have included a very easy sample of solo using both of the methods mentioned above for your reference.
