Whether you are a beginner picking up the guitar for the first time or a returning player after years of leaving the instrument in the attic, this is the right place for you to be. The following tutorials are specially created to get you up and running.
It is recommended that the beginner guitar lessons be viewed in the numerical order and you approach the next lesson only after completing the previous ones.
* Beginners TAKE NOTE *
From my years of experience in teaching the instrument, I feel it is NECESSARY to build up a solid beginner’s foundation as this will help you greatly in mastering advanced concepts in the future. And if you think you can simply skip this part and jump into complex lessons, you WILL kill yourself and hamper your own progress.
I would also recommend that you download a copy of Guitar Pro 6 as it will make the exercises in each tutorial easier to visualize. For advanced players and people who are looking specifically for video based learning, you should check out the corresponding categories we have for videos and advanced lessons.
Don’t Make the Same Kinds of Mistakes I Made Years Ago
Everybody starts somewhere. Many years ago, I was probably like you and I really struggled to learn the basics of playing the guitar. The main problem I faced was that I was trying to cramp and learn too much stuff at the same time. Because of this, I never tried to tackle questions or problems I had.
Instead, it was always easier to give up and I jumped on to learning different things whenever I encountered a roadblock. As a result, this not only lengthened my learning curve but also caused a lot of frustration in my early days as a guitarist.
My best word of advice is to work at your own pace and not rush through the lessons until you fully understand each one of them. I also want to stress the importance of clearing any doubts immediately as soon as you encounter them.
To get help, all you need to do is to leave a comment with your questions on the corresponding lesson pages. You would either get an answer directly from me or someone in our community will respond to your queries.
Lastly, remember to have FUN!
